Commissioned by Marcelle Joseph Projects - Staccato is a site-specific interactive audio-visual installation in a Gothic Revival chapel in Soho built by British architect Joseph Clarke in 1864. This work explores the relationship between music, movement and ceremonial architecture, using the architecture of the chapel and its specific acoustics in conjunction with a series of sculptural objects made from sound insulation foam, mirror card, perspex and wood and an original musical score created as a transcription of the architecture of the buliding. 'Staccato' is accompanied by a publication with texts by curator Marcelle Joseph and architect Umberto Bellardi Ricci.
